The Battle of Dignity

Qin Zhongyue had always thought of transferring schools for a long time now. It’s as frequent as thinking about eating and sleeping.

But what stopped him was the original plan wherein it was better to draw a clear line away from Xie Zhongxing.

Qin Zhongyue was very good at eating out, drinking, merrymaking, and spending a lot of money. But unfortunately, since he is under the age of 18, his father Qin Qian only gives him 100,000 yuan of pocket money every month. So he has to spend the remaining days until the end of the month in complete poverty. If he is lucky enough, though, he might be able to steal his father’s second card.

Nevertheless, a large part of his money was spent on unnecessary things. Not to mention the fact that he pays for his friends whenever they go out.

In his previous life, Xie Zhongxing thinks that it is unreasonable of him, but for Qin Zhongyue, the more money he has, the more in control he feels. He feels like the eldest brother and gives luxury cars to his friends as if money only grows on trees.

Because of this spending habit of his, Xie Zhongxing confiscated his card and was only willing to give him 100 yuan a day. Even his father closed his eyes and refused to stand up for him.

Qing Zhongyue is more afraid of losing his face and standing which results in him to not attend that many parties anymore. But every time he watches his friends go out and play together, he feels more miserable than before.

The more miserable he gets, the more it reflects how bossy, ruthless, and dependent he is.

When he was sick of it, Qin Zhongyue devised a plan to please Xie Zhongxing. He worked very hard day and night in the beginning. From ten o’clock to five o’clock sharp that he felt like he’d go bald. After that, Xie Zhongxing became less strict with him. In fact, he is then receiving smiles from Xie Zhingxing which is very rare. After that, he took out three red banknotes from his wallet and put them on the nightstand while saying, “Buy yourself something delicious.”

Qin Zhongyue: “…..”

What the heck just happened? He worked hard all day and all night! Countless blood and sweat and the only thing he gets is 300 yuan!

Wherever Qin Zhongyue would recall this scene, his fists would clench in anger. Even if he is a fool, he is still his husband. How could he be so stingy?

Qin Zhongyue remembered that in his previous life, he was forced to humble out and be miserable under Xie Zhongxing’s strict government. But on the other hand, that same Xie Zhongxing is just an 18 years old kid in this life, so he finally made up his mind to transfer to his school.

It doesn’t matter if he takes care of him or not. He mainly wants to get back on Xie Zhongxing.

This is a battle of dignity! You can only win, not lose!

The weather these days is somewhat repetitive. Yesterday it was sunny and hot enough for people to wear short-sleeved shirts. Today, it was cold and windy, forcing people to put on their coats.

Xie Zhongxing wears his school uniforms all year-round. Nanyang High School’s uniforms are no different from those of other schools. They are still the most common blue and white school uniforms, but they are very willing to use good materials. Autumn and winter-style school uniforms are very thick, which made Xie Zhongxing survive the winter.

And like any other day, that’s what he is going to wear now.

During recess, a boy quickly ran into the classroom and shouted, “Someone has transferred from another school!”

Everyone was stupefied, and the girl close to the door said, “Come on now. We are third-year high schools, and there are still people who transfer schools at this time?”

The boy said, “I saw it with my own eyes! He’s a man. He’s in Ms. Wang’s office now. He’s probably going to transfer to our class! “

Students from their class suddenly received high spirits from the news as they now had something to look forward to. “Let’s go and have a look!”

With that, whether they’re boys or girls, they followed interest.

Not before long, the corridor is bustling with voices. “The boy is so tall. Do you think he is 180 centimeters?”

“More than 180. Isn’t that Hu Xin from Class Three downstairs? He is 180 centimeters tall, and yet he is still shorter next to the transfer student.”

“Why’d you leave our room. I know there’s a transfer student, but aren’t you going to attend our class?”

“He’s in the car! Is that his car? Rolls Royce! The license plate is also very flashing! Really really impressive!”

“Oh, my God, are you serious? A rich second generation. I haven’t seen a rich second generation until now “

Xie Zhongxing listened in his ear and didn’t pay much attention to it. He was busy doing eye exercises.

He is handsome and temperament. In fact, many girls like him, but he has this cold and serious character that intimidates the girls that they don’t dare initiate a conversation. They just secretly admire him from a distance from time to time.

Zhang Xinyue took out her mobile phone and took a picture of Xie Zhongxing’s side profile, showcasing his sharp jawline, pointed nose, and long slender fingers.

It’s like a perfect work of art.

Zhang Xinyue enjoyed it by herself, but she still felt that it was not enough, so she posted it on the school forum.

Lz0L: All I am saying is that he is the most handsome boy in our school. Does anyone have a problem with that?

Because many students were playing with their mobile phones, just after class Zhang Xinyue received a reply soon.

Kitten 1L: Can we get more pictures of the face? I can’t quite see it all!

. 2L: Handsome. That’s one beautiful hand!

= = 3L: The hands are excellent + 1. But don’t get me started with the fingers. They are very thin and white while his eyelashes are so thick, so beautiful!

The comments in the comment section start to grow in numbers quickly. Zhang Xinyue only replied to the first few comments. One of them is from Kitten 1L. Lz0L: It’s too difficult! He is sharp. I can only take stolen shots. Else, he will block his face. I won’t be able to take high-definition photos with that.

Zhang Xinyue withdrew herself from the forum and looked through the photos she had taken before. None of them were clear enough to even be labeled as an average picture. Everything was blurry. The only one that was decent enough was the one she took when Xie Zhongxing was entering their classroom.

Nevertheless, it was wonderful in her eyes. Even if the face is almost covered by the high-built book cover. She ended up almost drooling. Luckily the bell class rang to wake her up from her thoughts. Zhang Xinyue hurriedly uploaded this photo to the forum.

Xie Zian’s school is also excellent and a veteran in the city. The teachers there were originally good. They once out-ranked the number one school. But then, in the past few years, Nanyang has poached a lot of experienced teachers. With this, the enrollment rate and the number of students dropped drastically by several percentage points in recent years.

Xie Zian originally got good scores in the exams he take, but his performance has fallen sharply this year. When the result of the monthly examination came out, he fell 50 places again, and now he is 556 in the whole school.

Xie Zian is very anxious. If this continues, old man Zhang may have to call his parents.

At that time, the lie he told to his parents will be exposed.

Xie Zian doesn’t think it’s his problem either. He’s smart. He went to the best school in primary school and junior high school, and he was at the top of the class every time. Now that he’s going backward so much, it’s naturally the school’s problem.

Blame Nanyang for digging up too many teachers from his school to make his grades go down!

When Xie Zian thought of Nanyang, there was a twist in his heart. Xie Zhongxing was so lucky to be able to get a teacher to pay his tuition to study in Nanyang. His grades were not as good as his, and it would be in vain to go to Nanyang. How could he not figure it out soon? It would be nice for him to go to Nanyang!

The more Xie Zian thought, the more uncomfortable he felt. After class, he called Xie Guoxu. As soon as the phone got through, he shouted, “Dad! / I want to go to Nanyang! Else, I won’t go to school! “

Xie Gouxu didn’t expect him to call him all of a sudden. He wiped the cement in his hand before speaking, “What are you talking about? You’re doing well now. Where else do you want to go attend to?”

Xie Zian shouted, “I don’t care. Ask yourself, how many teachers have been poached by Nanyang? I can’t understand my teachers in class. They can’t teach at all! I could take all the exams that I want, but as they keep holding me back, I won’t pass any of them!”

Xie Guoxu was immediately taken away, “Is it really that serious?”

“Of course, it is serious!” Xie Zian exclaimed. “I do not care what you think, dad! Do you want to honor your ancestors or not? Do you want me to give you a long face? Do you want me to face your parents looking like this? Whether you like it or not, transfer me to Nanyang now!”

Xie Guoxu was interested in making it happen, but there’s a sole problem that he’s embarrassed to admit to his son. Nevertheless, he had no choice but to do so. “That school costs 9,000 dollars per semester. How can I afford it?”

“Isn’t that old woman helping Xie Zhongxing pay for his tuition? It has been two years. Can’t I do it for a year? I am no worse than that rubbish. You go tell her!”

Xie Guoxu hesitated, “It’s different. She’s not married and has no children in her thirties. She probably treats your brother as her son. How can you justify it?”

Xie Zian shouted, “I don’t care! You tell her that I am way better than Xie Zhongxing. There’s nothing he can do that I cannot do. You better tell her that she must help me pay for my tuition and living expenses, and I’ll recognize her as my godmother. She should be paying for me and not for that good for nothing. She won’t disagree so ask her quickly!”

“Alright. I’ll call her and ask.” Xie Guoxu said in surrender.

As soon as Xie Zian hung up the phone, the bell rang.

Zhang Xin, the headteacher, came out from the corner and ran into Xie Zian. He was still standing in the corridor with his cell phone.

“Why are you standing here foolishly? Why don’t you go to class?” He questioned with a straight face.

Xie Zian was about to leave in a hurry when Zhang Xin stopped him. “If I catch you playing with your phone again, I will call your parents to come over.” He warned.

Xie Zian’s heart jumped a little. “There won’t be a next time. The teachers won’t even see me here anymore.” He replied quickly.

“Go to class.” Zhang Xin dismissed, which the boy took to run away immediately.

Outsiders all say that Xie Zhongxing had hit the jackpot marrying the prince of the Qin Enterprise, Qin Zhongyue, even being treasured and favoured for five whole years. They were well-recognized as a loving couple. However, they didn’t know that Qin Zhongyue had a lot of dissatisfaction with this marriage. He complained to his good friend, “He micromanages everything. Won’t let me drink or smoke, won’t let me go clubbing, and he even set me a 10pm curfew!” “I have to hand over all my salary and bank cards and he would only give me a hundred yuan a day! Only if he is in a good mood, he would give me a few hundred more!” Qin Zhongyue felt angry and wronged, “And I even have to wait on him!” “If I ever get the chance to do this again, I will never marry him! I used to get eight million yuan a month as spending money!” The prince said this to his friend. The day after he said this, Qin Zhongyue found himself reborn to the time when he was seventeen. The Xie Zhongxing at this time was eighteen years old and poor to the point where he only had one set of old clothes to wear, holes in his socks and a pair of dirty shoes whose soles were coming off. Even if he had a nice-looking face, he was despised and looked down upon, and known in the school as a pauper. When Xie Zhongxing’s parents came to handle the withdrawal procedures for him, Qin Zhongyue only then found out that he was a study tyrant ranked first in his grade, receiving scholarships every year, and that he was a seedling with good prospects the school had high expectations for and not the ‘useless high school dropout who didn’t like to study and only has money in his eyes’ as claimed by his younger brother. Qin Zhongyue couldn’t bear the sight of this. He pulled Xie Zhongxing into his arms, angry, “Continue studying! Our Qin family has never had a top scorer before, you must keep studying!” Xie Zhongxing raised his eyes and looked at him in confusion. The look in his eyes seemed to ask: Who are you? Qin Zhongyue thought of Xie Zhongxing’s dictatorship after their marriage and shuddered. He then maintained a look of righteousness, “I am just a kind-hearted person who does not wish to reveal his name!” Later, Qin Zhongyue asked Xie Zhongxing shyly, “If we get married, can you give me a thousand yuan a day as spending money?” Xie Zhongxing, “?” Qin Zhongyue, “…..Five hundred is also okay.”
